When A Plateau Is More Than Just A Topographical Feature → Cranky Fitness.
One of the things that has kept me with the bootcamp formula was that every day during the week is a different workout and every 4 weeks it completely switches up. That helps with boredom and challenges your body constantly – helping do its part to not hit that plateau.
Kiva – Loans that change lives (saw this at A GeekyMomma’s Blog)
Nice way to give back this season or any time. Pay it forward…
We Let You Loan to Low Income Entrepreneurs . Kiva’s mission is to connect people through lending for the sake of alleviating poverty.
Kiva is the world’s first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend to unique entrepreneurs around the globe. The people you see on Kiva’s site are real individuals. When you browse entrepreneurs’ profiles on Kiva, choose someone to lend to, and then make a loan, you are helping a real person make great strides towards economic independence and improve life for themselves, their family, and their community. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates and track repayments. Then, when you get your loan money back, you can relend to someone else.
Here are a few ways you can use Kiva to help turn the dreams of entrepreneurs around the world into reality this holiday season:
1. Lend!
2. Buy Kiva Gift Certificates
3. Shop for support at Nau.com
4. Donate to Kiva(The 2009 Tax Year for charitable donations is closing fast!)
5. Support Kiva’s Cause on Facebook or get your Facebook friends a virtual Kiva piggy bank
6. Help Kiva Win $1 Million on Facebook With Chase Community Giving

Today’s workout…
1This was the last day of the 4 week camp. It’s amazing to see how far the group comes from week 1 to week 4. Things that seemed so friggin hard that first week, really come together this last week. Don’t get me wrong – 65lb split jerks are still hard, but not AS hard as week 1. And let me ask you something – how come burpees are so friggin hard? They don’t look like they should be as hard as they are..Anyone with me on that one??
Warmup:
Calistentics – backwards lunges, high knees, tuck jumps, leg lifts
50 pushups
3 series of different types of situps – back situp twists, knee rollups, 83s
Camp: Total reps 3 rounds AMRepsAP
65lb split jerks
65lb front squats/lunges
jump rope/double unders
ring jumps
burpees/placement situps
Extra:
All of the above as fast as you can doing 20 reps at each station (rings were 40 reps).
Post your workout – I like to hear what others are doing to stay fit and reduce stress!
A suggested workout station I think people should try: My PT station from Group training yesterday was 25lbs dumbell push-press squats, then jumping rope (#weight). I am sore from it and think everyone should try it next time they are at the gym or where ever you have dumbells. You can use lower or higher weight as necessary. It really works your shoulders and upper back.
15, 12, 9 reps of push press squats. In between each round of those, jump rope your weight. So if you weigh 200lbs, do 200 jump ropes. Finish as fast as you can!
Let me know how it goes!
