Get enough sleep!
0Did you know that getting enough sleep is essential to living a healthy and fit life? I was born with the gift of napping. I know how lucky I am that I can literally take a nap any time any where even after my 545a boot camp. As I said, it’s a gift that I do not take for granted.
You can find lots of references to how lack of sleep can affect overall fitness and interfere with you achieving your goals:
“Even at the end of a busy day there seems to be lots to get done. Try your best to delegate, multitask and organize yourself so you get an adequate amount of sleep. Your body and mind need to rest. Sleep is the time your body recovers. And the less you get the worse off you will be, feeding the vicious cycle. Be sure to find two to three days a week where you get a solid nights sleep to keep you focused, on track and energetic enough to keep up with the demands of the season.” – Mysportsclubs.com
Sleep it off. Getting enough sleep is underrated—it’s a top antiager. Be disciplined and treat yourself to this luxury, whether it’s napping during the day or going to bed earlier. Lack of sleep taxes your body from head to toe—and it shows. – cherylforberg.com
So try to make sure you find a way to have a consistent sleep schedule. I know firsthand how lack of sleep can affect you.
When my son, Nate was born he was not a sleeper. Scotty and I went for 8 straight months without a reliable sleep schedule. We literally had 4 nights in those 8 months where we slept completely through the nite. We were miserable, gaining weight and because of that experience, we really appreciate our sleep.
Today’s Workout!
0Gold’s Gym was again full of good intentioned people. I have said it before, I appreciate the effort of these folks, I really do, it’s just that I have to park super far out and it’s cold because of the crowd at the gym. Double edged sword I guess.
I felt pretty good during my 1 hr 25 min workout:
Treadmill approx 3.5 miles with the last half mile intervals
45lb halos
25lb push presses
45lb OH squats
25lb Arnold presses
50 bench jumps
10 mins on Stairmill
40 push ups
General Stretching
Then I left, and had a warm bowl of steel cut oatmeal with fresh blueberries, flax seed, agave nectar. Yum!
How was your workout today?
