News to Note
1A few of my friends will be unfortunately dealing with this in the very near future. I know how hard it is to deal with change in general, especially when it is unwanted or uninitiated. Taking care of yourself becomes even more critical in times of high stress so go for a walk, go to the gym. Whatever you do, don’t fall into the trap of sitting at home letting the situation control you. Easier said than done I know, but important none the less.
There are several challenges that await those who have found themselves packing up their cubicles and walking out of the office for the last time. It can be hard focusing on anything other than the job situation, and it’s a time when many people fall into the trap of thinking that taking care of their bodies is a trivial occupation in the grand scheme of things.
The Children of Cyberspace: Old Fogies by Their 20s
Think about how different the world is now than when we grew up. Just today I had to explain that when I was a kid, we couldn’t even pause a TV to go to the bathroom. As IF!!
My daughter’s worldview and life will be shaped in very deliberate ways by technologies like the Kindle and the new magical high-tech gadgets coming out this year…She’ll know nothing other than a world with digital books, video chats with faraway relatives, and toddler-friendly video games on the iPhone. She’ll see the world a lot differently from her parents.
Which nation feels most pressure to lose weight? – CNN.com.
How sad. A few years back I saw some report on 60 minutes about the pressures that women from certain countries feel to be thin and the lengths that they go to so they can fit into what they think is wanted.
Eighty-three percent of those polled in Brazil said they felt the pressure to be slimmer, followed by India (68 percent), the U.S. (62 percent) and France (55 percent)
Agave Nectar: Good or Bad? | Food Renegade.
So I used to use Agave Nectar as my sweetener of choice. Not after reading articles like this and how processed it really is. Slapping Organic on it doesn’t mean it’s good for you. It’s something I have to continually remind myself about.
Feeling Like Myself Again After Cancer – Well Blog – NYTimes.com.
I related to this article in so many ways. I was just talking to my mom over the holidays and we both remarked how nice it was to be getting back to our normal life. It’s the little things that mean so much after going through the cancer journey.
There is a difference, clearly

Have you ever seen the difference between fat vs muscle in your body? I hear alot from people they haven’t seen any difference in the scale but they notice the change in their body.
How can that be? Look at this picture – (i’m not sure where this pic originated). That’s how it can be. Muscle is tighter, firmer than fat, hence it looks different in your body.
Quite a difference in appearance eh?
A Tough Tuesday Workout
0Today’s workout was very tough for me. I tweaked my back a bit on yesterday’s workout. I think it was the power cleans and not using proper form the entire time. Of course, not on purpose, but when you are going at it that fast – sometimes you compensate.

Some days you just don’t perform at your peak. I think for me, it was a mental & physical issue today. MT was giving me a hard time about it too and questioning my time. It’s good on one hand that he notices and pushes me constantly, but on the other hand, there are days when you just don’t feel it. My friend Suzi-Q laughs when he does this. She and I both let MT get under our skin. As we were leaving, she said, you know you are going to review his words all day long. She is right and tomorrow I will use those words to push myself harder. I will show him, HA!
What workout did you do today?
