About Me
I am a Northern VA/Washington D.C. based Social Media Enthusiast, Digital Marketing Strategist, Blogger, Speaker, Fitness Fan, Certified Level 1 Crossfit , whose family was changed by cancer.
Stephanie Hoaglund is passionate about creating and leading innovative programs that creatively incorporate social media and community engagement strategies to help companies find their authentic voice, create relevance and cultivate relationships that positively impact the company and the consumer, which ultimately drives company growth and performance.
Stephanie believes that the social space is the most effective and efficient way to truly connect with your customer base- finding out what’s most important to them, figuring out where, when and how they’d like to engage with you and being truly transparent about what your company is doing and where it is going.
Hoaglund started her career at America Online, the Internet giant that figured out how to bring the Internet to the world. During her 12 year tenure, Stephanie led the development of some of AOL’s largest community- focused initiatives including AOL Music, KOL – AOL for Kids, AOL Health: Diet and Fitness, EA Games and many Member Education campaigns. She also led the development of ground breaking digital products including radio@aol and an enhanced AOL Music Search. Her instincts and insights into how to engage very large digital audiences were born at a time when the world was just discovering this empowering new medium.
With her new found passion for connecting companies with their customers, Stephanie joined the marketing team at K12- the global leader in digital education products and services for grades K-12. With a belief in the value of the social mediums coupled with project management pragmatism, Stephanie quickly became recognized as K12’s corporate thought-leader and community voice for social media in education and technology. Some of Hoaglund’s successes at K12 include spear-heading the overall strategy and operation of K12’s social media strategy and community, reaching more than 200M full and part time students world-wide. She also produced an award-winning Corporate Magazine- the xPotential, led development for retention welcome kits for newly enrolled families, and led several philanthropic and corporate programs and corporate recognition events, including a leadership camp created for online high school students.
Stephanie Hoaglund is a parent of two and a popular blogger in her own right (she started blogging after her husband’s cancer diagnosis). Her writing has appeared in various digital publications and her social media experience was recently recognized by Microsoft.
She also runs a social media marketing consultancy called Lift Potential, LLC. Lift Potential focuses on providing a range of social-related marketing services for a growing list of clients. These services include:

Live Fit and Sore!
Live Fit and Sore! was created to inspire and support others who have come to the realization how important overall health and fitness is and want to make the commitment to change.
What’s with the Live Fit and Sore Name?
The title comes from Livestrong!, Lance Armstrong’s cancer foundation which I turned to for support during the beginning of our cancer journey — so instead of copying them using live strong — I live fit! And sore –well if you workout the way I workout, your muscles are sore a lot– but this lifestyle will also help you soar to new heights –hence Live Fit and Sore! As a woman who has worked hard to transform my life -I know firsthand how hard it is, but I know it is worth it. And, because I feel so great – I want to inspire others to start their own journey to living fit and sore!
I regularly blog about my workouts, research & information about nutrition, fitness news, cancer research & information, and anything else that comes my way! You will see information about beauty and fashion as well because a big part of living this way includes taking care of you! And I also do reviews of products, places and websites that are helping others live fit and sore!
Livestrongnsore has an active following on Twitter and 1140 Friends on facebook.

I love your blog! I am part of the development office at the Arizona Cancer Center at the University of Arizona. I just saw Beth Jacobs speak this week on her VIt D research and its possible impact on colon cancer. Beth is an absolute rock star here. (She received her PhD from the UA in 2001) She welcomes questions and comments about her work so if you’d like to reach her, let me know.
Very inspirational and moving story. My dad recently received a similar diagnosis, and it’s certainly an experience that has made our family reflect on our lives and values. Keep up the great work!
I’m also moved by your inspiring story and your journey towards vibrant health. One of my dearest, oldest friends is a colon cancer survivor, who is also finding his way to the best of health and fitness. Thank you for being a voice for sound nutrition and lifestyle choices.
Hi,
I wanted to get in contact as we are looking for places to host adverts for a number of our clients.
Typically we would normally like to place either a text based link within your site somewhere or provide you with a new post with the link already inserted.
If you do not wish to host a link advert then we have a number of partners who might be worth speaking to who place more traditional adverts.
Please let me know if you have any interest in the above and thanks in advance for your consideration.
Kind Regards,
Sandra
