Happy Birthday!
1Happy 10th birthday to my beautiful daughter Hannah Bea. She has been one of the most joyful experiences and I am so proud to be her Mom. She’s a bright, kind, funny and sharp young lady who makes us laugh each and every day. Who wouldn’t want someone like that in their lives?

Happy Birthday to my Beautiful Daughter!
1
Today is my beautiful Hannah Bea’s 9th birthday. It is hard to believe that it has been 9 years since I took that trip to Reston Hospital that forever changed my life. I became a Mom. What a wonderful journey it is —
This morning’s workout was fun — I can’t begin to tell you how fun it is to go to CrossFit in the morning and ‘play’.
Warmupx2
20 DU/40 SU
10 Hollow Rocks
10 Pull ups (2 min dead hangs)
10 Ring Dips
10 Pass Thrus
–
Back Bridges (OUCH!)
Skill
Handstand Push-ups (HSPU) – we did it with a box but with your toes on the box, not knees. So you are in an inverted V shape. It really hurts your hamstrings. It also is not a straight push up. Your hands should be as close to the box, and your head should hit so that it forms a triangle (hand-hand-head at the top)
WOD
12m AMRAP
15 Box Jumps
10 Ab Mat Sit ups
5 HSPU
total rounds=7
Then I stuck around a bit to practice my cartwheels. They are getting better and better every day! I cant stop telling you how empowering it is for me to be able to learn them. At my age, learning something like that is just a huge win, so you will probably hear about it again and again!!! Sorry – it’s my blog!
Oh, and one last thing — Fun Mommy strikes again. Ice cream as a part of her birthday breakfast! I mean come on, that is just fun!
Girl Scout Walk Together 3m hike

What a gorgeous day yesterday was for the Girl Scout Walk Together 3 mile hike. The scenery was beautiful and I loved hanging out with Ms Bea -chatting away and exercising! Perfect way to spend a day together. I really enjoy hearing her perspective on whats going on in her life, friends, and health. I am so proud of how smart and intuitive she is –she’s a great little girl.
I had no idea this Nature Preserve was even there, so that was a bonus. I am definitely coming back here with the rest of the family. Lots of family friend hiking and nature to be found.
Hot and Muggy DC Area

Hannah didn’t get her first tooth until after her 1st birthday so we fully expected the lateness of her losing her teeth. She has lost 2 so far, she’s 8 until today. Today she lost a front tooth! A Momentous Occasion here at our House! Looks like the tooth fairy will be visiting our house tonite! Watch out!!!
Its so hot and muggy here in the DC area — makes me want to do nothing but sit in air conditioning and watch TV. So that is what I have done most of the day –
I’m excited to go workout tomorrow AM — How about you? Commit to doing something active tomorrow — it can be as simple as a 20 min walk or 10 push-ups. You have to make a first step to go anywhere you know…
Wednesday

I am still trying to regain my power clean form. I am pulling up way too early and seem to pause and think about it which then slows me down. Arggh…frustration!
So, I took Hannah who just turned 8 in March to her first eye dr appointment with my friend Dr Tina. It is confirmed she has her Momma’s eyesight – which is not necessarily a great thing – so she needs glasses. I am so thankful that she saw it as a good thing and we picked out 2 really cute frames and she is excited to get them. For me, I had mixed emotions about it and I am not sure why. I had glasses at a young age, so I know it is no big deal but maybe it’s the start of her not being a little girl anymore – or maybe I am just being an over emotional Mom. You decide. From advice I received – we ended up choosing 2 pairs and will be waiting for them for about a week thanks to our insurance plan.
Happy Birthday to my Bea

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Hannah Bea. It’s crazy to think it’s been 8 years since you were born — I am the luckiest Mommy in the world to have you.
I don’t know about you but I still can’t believe I am a Mother. Time stopped in my mind sometime in my 20s so when I stop and think about my daughter, first born, being 8 – it is almost unfathomable in one regard. In the other, I can’t imagine her not even being in my life. I don’t remember life without her.
She makes my life so much more fun – spontaneous – meaningful. I have learned so much from her and have gotten more frustrated from her than I can remember ever being. She is my daughter after all…she’s funny, precocious, sweet, smart, talented, inquisitive and full of wonder. She helped me realize how much I love being around kids. Her middle name was my Grandma Bea’s name and she was a firecracker — just like Hannah.
